1. Buying Tickets

What is IventPay?

IventPay is a digital ticketing and event management platform that allows customers to discover events, purchase tickets and receive digital tickets electronically.

Event organisers can use IventPay to create events, sell tickets, manage attendance and monitor ticket sales.

How do I buy a ticket?

Visit the IventPay website or application.

  1. Browse or search for the event you want to attend.
  2. Select the event.
  3. Choose your ticket type and quantity.
  4. Enter your required customer details.
  5. Select your preferred payment method.
  6. Complete the payment.
  7. Once payment is successfully confirmed, your ticket will be issued.

Do I need an IventPay account to buy a ticket?

Where account registration is required, you will need to create an IventPay account before completing your purchase.

Where guest checkout is enabled, you may purchase a ticket without creating a full account. Your ticket will be sent using the contact details provided during checkout.

How many tickets can I purchase?

The maximum number of tickets depends on the event and the limits set by the event organiser.

If a ticket limit applies, it will be displayed during the ticket purchase process.

Can I purchase tickets for someone else?

Yes. You may purchase tickets on behalf of another person.

Make sure the information entered during checkout is accurate and that the ticket is transferred or provided to the person attending the event where applicable.

2. Payments

Which payment methods does IventPay accept?

Available payment methods may vary depending on the event.

IventPay may support:

  • Mobile money
  • Bank cards
  • Online banking or EFT where available
  • Other approved electronic payment channels

The payment options available to you will be displayed during checkout.

My payment was deducted but I did not receive my ticket. What should I do?

Do not immediately make another payment.

First:

  1. Check your SMS and email for your ticket.
  2. Check your IventPay account under My Tickets / Orders.
  3. Check whether the payment was successfully completed.
  4. Locate your transaction reference.
  5. Contact IventPay Support if your ticket is still unavailable.

When contacting support, provide:

  • Your name
  • Mobile number or email address
  • Event name
  • Amount paid
  • Payment method
  • Transaction reference

My payment failed. Can I try again?

Yes. If the payment was unsuccessful, you may retry the transaction.

If your account or mobile money wallet was debited despite the transaction showing as unsuccessful, do not make another payment until the first transaction has been checked.

I was charged twice. What should I do?

Contact IventPay Support with the two transaction references or payment confirmations.

IventPay will verify the transactions and determine whether a duplicate payment was successfully received.

3. My Ticket

Where can I find my ticket?

Your ticket may be available through:

  • Your IventPay account under My Tickets / Orders
  • Email
  • SMS or other electronic delivery method provided by IventPay

I did not receive my ticket.

Check:

  • Your email inbox
  • Spam or junk folder
  • SMS messages
  • Your IventPay account
  • Your transaction / order history

If you still cannot find your ticket, contact Support with your transaction reference.

Can I screenshot my ticket?

A screenshot may be accepted where the QR code or barcode is clearly visible and the event's entry procedures permit it.

However, customers should preferably present the original digital ticket from IventPay to avoid problems with ticket validation.

Can I print my ticket?

Yes, where the ticket contains a scannable QR code or barcode and the event organiser permits printed tickets.

Can I use the same ticket more than once?

No.

A ticket barcode or QR code is normally intended for a single entry. Once successfully validated at the event, it may no longer be accepted for entry.

I lost my ticket. Can it be recovered?

Yes, in most cases.

Log into your IventPay account and check My Tickets / Orders.

If you purchased without an account or cannot access your ticket, contact Support and provide your transaction details.

4. Event Entry

How do I enter an event using my IventPay ticket?

Present your digital or printed ticket at the designated entrance.

Event staff will scan the QR code or barcode on your ticket to validate it.

What happens if my ticket cannot be scanned?

Make sure:

  • Your screen brightness is high enough.
  • The QR code or barcode is fully visible.
  • Your ticket is not damaged or altered.
  • You are presenting the correct ticket.

If the ticket still cannot be scanned, ask the event's ticketing or entrance staff for assistance.

Can I arrive late?

Late entry depends on the event organiser and venue rules.

Please check the event information before attending.

What happens if I forget my ticket?

IventPay or the event organiser may be able to locate your booking using your name, mobile number, email address or transaction reference.

You should carry your transaction reference where possible.

5. Ticket Changes, Transfers and Upgrades

Can I change my ticket?

Ticket changes depend on the event organiser's ticketing rules.

Some events may allow ticket rescheduling, upgrades or transfers, while others may not.

Check the specific event's terms and conditions before requesting a change.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

Ticket transfers may be permitted depending on the event.

Where transfers are allowed, the process should be completed through IventPay rather than manually altering the ticket.

Can I upgrade my ticket?

Where the organiser has enabled ticket upgrades, you may be able to upgrade your ticket subject to availability and payment of any applicable difference.

Can I change the event date?

Only where the event organiser has enabled rescheduling or IventPay has authorised the change.

6. Refunds and Cancellations

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

Tickets are generally subject to the refund and cancellation conditions specified for the particular event.

Purchasing a ticket does not automatically create a right to a refund simply because the customer can no longer attend.

Always check the event-specific refund policy before purchasing.

What happens if an event is cancelled?

If an event is cancelled, IventPay and/or the event organiser will communicate the applicable arrangements to affected customers.

Depending on the circumstances, customers may be offered:

  • A refund;
  • A ticket transfer to a rescheduled event; or
  • Another remedy determined by the organiser and applicable terms.

What happens if an event is postponed?

If an event is postponed, the organiser will determine whether existing tickets remain valid for the new date or whether customers will be offered an exchange or refund.

Customers should retain their original tickets until official instructions are provided.

How long does a refund take?

Once a refund has been approved and processed, the time taken for funds to reach the customer's account may depend on the payment method and financial institution involved.

IventPay will communicate any applicable refund processing timelines.

Where will my refund be sent?

Where possible, refunds will be made to the original payment method used for the transaction, subject to IventPay's refund procedures and the requirements of the relevant payment provider.

7. Event Information

Where can I find event details?

The event page normally contains information such as:

  • Event name
  • Date
  • Time
  • Venue
  • Ticket categories
  • Ticket prices
  • Event organiser
  • Entry requirements
  • Event-specific terms and conditions

Customers should carefully review the event information before purchasing.

I have a question about the event itself. Who should I contact?

For questions relating specifically to the event, venue, performers, seating, programme, age restrictions or event facilities, the event organiser may be the best point of contact.

IventPay can assist with ticketing and transaction-related enquiries.

8. Account & Customer Details

I forgot my password.

Select Forgot Password on the IventPay login page and follow the instructions provided.

Can I change my mobile number or email address?

Where account settings permit, you can update your contact information from your IventPay profile.

If you cannot change the information yourself, contact Support.

Why does IventPay need my personal information?

IventPay collects and processes information necessary to provide ticketing, payment, customer-support, event-management and related services.

Personal information is handled in accordance with IventPay's applicable Privacy and Data Protection policies and Malawi's data-protection requirements.

Can I opt out of marketing messages?

Yes. Where marketing communications are sent, customers should be provided with an appropriate mechanism to manage their communication preferences.

9. Event Organisers

How do I sell tickets through IventPay?

Event organisers can register or contact IventPay to discuss listing their event.

Once approved, the organiser can work with IventPay to configure:

  • Event details
  • Ticket categories
  • Prices
  • Ticket quantities
  • Sales periods
  • Discounts or promotions
  • Seating arrangements where applicable
  • Payment options
  • Entry and scanning requirements

What information do I need to list an event?

Depending on the event, IventPay may require:

  • Organiser information
  • Event name
  • Event description
  • Event date and time
  • Venue
  • Event artwork
  • Ticket categories
  • Ticket prices
  • Ticket quantities
  • Event terms and conditions
  • Refund / cancellation policy
  • Contact information
  • Settlement / payment information

Can I monitor ticket sales?

Yes. Event organisers can access available sales and event reports through the IventPay platform.

Depending on the organiser's access level, reports may include:

  • Tickets sold
  • Revenue
  • Ticket categories
  • Sales by period
  • Complimentary tickets
  • Tickets scanned
  • Remaining ticket inventory
  • Transaction information

Can I stop ticket sales?

Yes. Ticket sales can be stopped based on the event configuration, ticket availability, sales deadline or instructions from the organiser.

Can I issue complimentary tickets?

Where enabled, organisers may issue complimentary or promotional tickets in accordance with their IventPay configuration.

Can I manage event entry?

Where IventPay scanning functionality is available, authorised event staff can validate tickets at the venue using approved scanning devices.

10. Ticket Scanning & Security

How does IventPay prevent duplicate tickets?

Tickets are issued with unique identifiers such as QR codes or barcodes.

At entry, the ticket is validated against the IventPay system. A ticket that has already been successfully used may be rejected when presented again.

What should event staff do if a ticket is already used?

Do not admit the customer solely on the basis of the ticket.

Refer the customer to the event's ticketing or customer-service desk so that the transaction and ticket history can be investigated.

Can tickets be copied?

Customers should never share ticket QR codes or barcodes publicly.

A copied ticket may be presented by another person and, depending on which ticket is scanned first, may result in the legitimate holder being denied entry.
